Date: One day in January, 2022
Location: Maiko Cemetery, Kobe City
One day in January, I went birding at Maiko Cemetery. Maiko Cemetery is rich in nature and is well known for its many wild birds.
As soon as arrived there, I met a male Daurian Redstart. His beautiful orange feathers were shining in the morning sun.

After walking for a while, I heard the drumming of a woodpecker. When I looked up, I saw a Japanese Pygmy Woodpecker, tired from drumming, taking a rest on a branch.

Later, while searching for birds in a slightly dark path, I was very lucky to see a young male and a female Red-flanked Bluetail almost at the same time.
